Chocolate Royale Spotlight: From Nothing to Noticed-The Rise of KGodd

KGodd grew up in Federal Way, Washington, just outside Seattle, in a home where nothing was handed to him. His parents worked tirelessly to make sure he and his siblings always had a roof over their heads and food on the table. Watching them grind instilled in him a mindset he carries to this day. “Whether we were doing alright or dead broke, they always found a way to make something happen,” he says. “Nothing was ever handed to my parents, and nothing was ever handed to me. I’m a grinder. I turn nothing into something. Nobody could ever disrespect my success, because everything I have, I earned.” That philosophy shaped how he sees life, how he works, and how he defines success.

Professionally, KGodd is an Area Manager at an Amazon fulfillment center. It is far from the career he always imagined, but it is a stepping stone that has taught him resilience. “I never had any background in operations, and being in charge of people in that world is honestly crazy to me. It’s not who I am at heart, but right now it pays the bills,” he says. Before Amazon, he worked as a salesman at an online marketing agency, earning well and feeling stable, until the company suddenly shut down without warning. Overnight, everything fell apart. With his daughter to care for, he spent six months interviewing for every opportunity he was qualified for and faced nothing but rejection. Amazon gave him an opportunity when he needed it most, but KGodd knows it is temporary. His true passion has always been music, and he is ready to turn that into his full-time life.

Looking back, he has learned to respect patience and see failure differently. “You’re not late. You’re not behind. You’re loading. Most of the good stuff takes longer than your ego wants but less time than your fear predicts. Don’t rush what’s still shaping you. Unfinished doesn’t mean unworthy,” he explains. Failure, he says, is feedback in disguise. Every loss is proof that you showed up, that you dared to try. “The people you admire most failed in private long before they won in public.” Trusting his own path has also been key. “Not everyone is supposed to understand you. If you follow the crowd, you’ll only end up where everyone else already is. The path that feels lonely now will feel inevitable later. You don’t need permission to become who you already feel yourself turning into. Just keep going, even on the days it doesn’t make sense yet.”

Today, KGodd is locked in on building his music career. His EP, Opening Statement, drops March 6th, and he is simultaneously growing his brand, From Nothing To Noticed. By his birthday in December, he plans to leave Amazon behind and pursue music full time. “This year feels different. I’m focused, motivated, and ready to make something real happen,” he says.

One of the hardest lessons he has learned the long way is that money does not automatically upgrade your life. When he was making good money in his sales job, he started living like it was permanent, buying a brand-new car, moving into a new place, and keeping up with child support. When the company shut down, all those obligations remained, and he struggled to stay afloat. “Even with a decent amount of money saved, when you go six months without a job while supporting a child, that money disappears fast. That experience taught me to be way more intentional with my life upgrades. Now I move smarter, not flashier.”

Discipline and motivation are easy for him because he knows what he is capable of. “I just look at my life situation and realize I’m nowhere near where I want to be, but I know I’m capable of achieving it. That’s all the motivation I need,” he says. The sacrifices have been real. He gave up stability for uncertainty, swallowed his pride to shield his daughter from his struggles, and missed moments that mattered while quietly carrying stress. “Every sacrifice sharpened me. It stripped the excuses, exposed what mattered, and turned pressure into purpose. I’m not where I’m going yet, but I’m someone who can handle where I’m headed. That makes every sacrifice worth it.”

Mentally, he is in the strongest place he has ever been. Financially, he is in the lowest, which fuels his drive. Spiritually, he has never been stronger. The loss of his father before he graduated college could have derailed him, but over time, he has learned to trust God’s plan. “You just have to trust it and move in alignment with it. My relationship with the Lord is stronger than it’s ever been,” he says.

For anyone trying to carve out their own path, KGodd has one piece of advice: believe in yourself first and never stop creating. Don’t be afraid to post your work, even if it doesn’t get recognition immediately. “Stop being scared to drop. Stop being scared to post. If one post doesn’t get love, post again. Then post again. Consistency beats fear every time.”
